Changeling Red

Changeling Red is a 4-cost Fighter from the Superheroes theme who is available at rank L that kills the nearest living ground enemy unit in range under a third of their health, and transforms into them. It was released on September 10th 2021 when the Cheesy Poofs Shop opened.

Strategy[]

Changeling Red is a great support unit against high-cost, high health enemies, like ManBearPig or Scuzzlebutt. If she kills them with her power, you can then counterattack with a copy of the enemy.
Killing one of Kenny's cards with Red's power does not trigger his payback Deathwishes. However, if she kills Scuzzlebutt with her Charge skill, his Deathwish will still activate for some odd reason..
Synergizes with Commander Hat by drawing her towards an expensive enemy, and giving her a speed and attack boost.

Counters[]

Changeling Red can't target flying units with her ability. Plus she is vulnerable to them as most Fighters are.
Since she has such a short power range, it's very easy to block Red with an unkillable unit like Tupperware or an Auto Vacuum.
Changeling Red can be vulnerable to being mind controlled. If Changeling Red uses her Charge skill while mind controlled, she’ll transform into an enemy on the opponent’s side of play, so use her carefully near a player with the Mind Control spell or put her carefully near Cyborg Kenny if her Charge skill isn’t ready.
Be careful as to what enemy she transforms into. If she transforms into a character you have in your deck, you can’t use said character until she’s defeated, so use her ability with caution. However, it is possible to transform into a character in your deck even if you have on the battlefield. For example, if the enemy summons ManBearPig in their deck and the main player already has ManBearPig on the battlefield, she can still transform into him, letting that player have two ManBearPigs on the battlefield.
In addition, you need to be careful what she transforms into if you use The Coon. His ability buffs his attack stat by a certain amount for every Superhero ally on the field. While Changeling Red gives The Coon a buff from being on the field, since she is a card of the Superhero theme, she won’t if she transforms into a character who is not from the Superhero theme, so if The Coon is on the field, make sure she at least transforms into a different Superhero character.
In addition, don’t use her Charge skill near a character like Terrance and Phillip or Visitors, because she won’t transform into the both of them, she’ll only turn into one of them, so that idea is ill-advised.
